The current exhibition brings together works by artists from different countries and continents, which
were created in October 2023 during two-day workshops in the glass factory in Lednicke Rovne.
Courage, as the central theme of BDW, refers here to the time limitation, the performative aspect
(communication and collaboration with glass blowers) as well as the experimental nature of the
whole project. Each of the works presented suggests a different approach and a different direction. In
some there is a more perceptible link to tradition, in others traditional technology is revived by
experimental practices, others tend more towards objects teetering on the edge of applied art and
concept. If there is one thing that unites these seemingly heterogeneous trends, it is the emphasis on
craft, technology and material starting points. We believe that this anchoring in craft, material and
specific technology was able to convey new themes to the participating artists, suggest new
possibilities and place their work in surprising new contexts.

L'exposition rassemble des œuvres d'artistes de différents pays et continents, qui
ont été créés en octobre 2023 lors d'ateliers de deux jours dans la verrerie de Lednicke Rovne.
Le courage, comme thème central de BDW, fait ici référence à la limitation du temps, à l'aspect performatif (communication et collaboration avec les souffleurs de verre) ainsi que le caractère expérimental du Projet complet. Chacune des œuvres présentées suggère une approche différente et une direction différente. Danscertains cas, le lien avec la tradition est plus perceptible, dans d'autres la technologie traditionnelle est réanimée par les pratiques expérimentales, d'autres s'orientent davantage vers des objets à la limite des arts appliqués et concept. S’il y a une chose qui unit ces tendances apparemment hétérogènes, c’est bien l’accent mis sur points de départ de l'artisanat, de la technologie et du matériel. Nous pensons que cet ancrage dans l'artisanat, la matière et une technologie spécifique a pu transmettre de nouveaux thèmes aux artistes participants, suggérer de nouveaux possibilités et placer leur travail dans de nouveaux contextes surprenants."
