Fondée en 1711, l’ArBA-EsA, est aujourd'hui à la jonction d'une histoire riche et d’un projet pédagogique et artistique actuel. Elle hérite d'une tradition qui a vu se stratifier des pratiques artistiques très diversifiées, des modes d'enseignements qui se sont inventés. Le présent la positionne dans le complexe panorama international des enseignements supérieurs, dans une dimension tout autant pédagogique, artistique que professionnelle.  Elle est un lieu d'enseignement, de recherche et un grand atelier de création et de production où se forgent des générations d’artistes, de créateur·trice·s, d’auteur·trice·s de projets.
